From an early age, Tyler was a water kid. Growing up on rivers and lakes in Texas while working as a lifeguard, swim instructor and driving small boats, he tried to take a more traditional path with a degree and desk job. While obtaining a bachelor’s at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, his feet (or fins) hit the ocean in scuba gear for the first time and somewhere in the back of his mind he knew a desk could never hold him. It took several years for this fact to take hold, but his heart brought him back to the ocean to become a Divemaster and Scuba Instructor.
His passion, in the water, has really focused in on telling the story of the ocean and the divers that explore it. Much of the photography and videography you see on this website and our socials comes from him. He loves filming peoples experiences in the water and finding creative ways to share those stories.
Tyler has also found a passion for exploring underwater. Deep sites, ship wrecks, caves and caverns call his name when he is not introducing new divers to the beautiful shallow reefs here in the Keys. Tyler is now the Marketing Director at Islamorada Dive Center and Islamorada Pro Center along with teaching all ages and all levels of PADI Scuba Instructors. If you see him with a camera, smile big and check our Instagram soon after!
